Just on my way home from Canada 2023 Masters and Ladies World Fly Fishing Championships FIPS-Mouche.It has been two weeks of intense training and competing against the best ones out there.
Despite some controversial and unfortunate situations during the championship, which should be definitely fixed for next time and never repeated again I think it has been a success, especially for our team.
The biggest thank you go to my team mates Tereza Rutová Markéta Procházková Štěpánka Šimůnková Marková Eliška Marková , our coach Jaromir Sram (Jája) for all the hard work you all put into it, I know you left your hearts in Canadian lakes and rivers and we made it yet again !!! Mainly our team spirit and hardcore fishing from all of you helped us again to repeat success from last year!
What more? A big dream of mine came true and I got an individual gold medal - of course if you are in this sport, you can imagine how much it means to me!
Congratulations to the teams of Canada and USA for taking second and third position in teams and of course big congratulations to my team mate Eliska Marková and Cathy Ruddick from Canada for individual silver and bronze medals!
Congratulations to all who attend such an event and represent their country with a honour!
Special shout out to our guides Josh Jelly Gelinas and Taylor Culver, it won’t be possible without you guys, your knowledge of local waters was spectacular and you helped us so much!
Surely I shouldn’t forget to mention Gerda Altena, thank you! It was a pleasure to fish with you on the boat and you right it’s important to “never regret things“.
Shout out to badass fly angler Tess Weigand who fished with me in the same group, pushed me hard with her skills and been a great fun!
